How it Works

Any adult living with a primary diagnosis of mental illness is welcome to become a member and join the Prosper Place Clubhouse community. There is no fee and once you have become a member you will always be a member.

We offer a range of services aimed at engaging participants, or members, in meaningful and fulfilling ways. The Clubhouse assists people on their journey toward recovery.

Members work alongside support workers and put their skills and talents to use by becoming involved in the daily operation of the Clubhouse and participating in policy decisions.

Participation is voluntary - some members attend daily, while others may attend once per week.

There are two work units:
ACE Unit - clerical experience, employment skill building and employment assistance.
SMARTS Unit – meal and snack preparation, canteen, thrift store.

"I feel like I am needed when I come to the Clubhouse. All of the work I do for the functions
of the Clubhouse gives me meaning to my life." SH

We offer the following to members:

Sunflower Cafe - meal service coordinated and prepared by members and offered daily at an affordable cost.

Sunflower Boutique - in-house thrift store operated by members offering discounted, used clothing and household items.

Social Recreation - recreational and social events coordinated in and outside of the Clubhouse.

Library - book/dvd loans and used book/dvd sales.

Holiday Celebrations - traditional meals and activities on holidays.

Feelings of isolation are common in people living with mental illness. Prosper Place Clubhouse also offers support and outreach to members to encourage continued participation in the Clubhouse community.
